Nose dive

I took a complete nose dive this last week with my eating and have gone crazy with the treats. I am sick up to my hairline with sweets and starting tomorrow back on track with eating healthy and excersing. I have exercised all week, but I don't know how much it really counts because of all the sweets.

I know it is Christmas, but I over did it and have thrown ALL the treat/sweets out the door with the trash this morning.

Broke Down

I finally broke down and started the P90X Lean program. It is amazing, hard, fun and rewarding to see the changes in my body. I am on week 4 and have 8 more weeks to go to finish. I think when I finish I am going to try the Classic program! I hope all of you are doing great with your weight-loss goals. I am lookingforward to this new year and new goals!!

It's coming off.....slowly...but surely

Okay- I think something is happening. Thanks to my new friend Jillian Michaels!!! I have lost 10 pounds the last 2 months and I am finally seeing some changes. I can't believe how much harder this has been then after my first two! I am seriously working harder than ever, and I'm just glad it's finally starting to pay off. I have 10 more pounds to lose and then I'll be down to my lowest, but I'm hoping to lose about 15 more pounds total. That would put me at 125.

I've been doing the 30-day shred workout videos, (Cardio, Strength training, and Abs) the Last Chance workout videos (cardio and strength), the elipticle and walking a few days a week. (I do the 20 minute video everyday,...well monday-saturday....and then some days I do the elipticle, some days I also walk for an hour, and other days I just call that good!)

As for diet, I have been drinking lots of water (Thanks Rolyndia!) ...around 100 ounces a day. It's killing my bladder, but worth it.

I have been drinking protein shakes for breakfast, (after I workout and lift weights) and I've been eating lots of shredded wheat or whole wheat bread sandwhiches for lunch. I have cut my snacking down to a minimal, and then for dinner I eat whatever my family eats, but I try to cut my carbs in half, and triple my vegetables.

I'll keep doing it as long as it's working!

Hope you all are doing well. Stay strong through the HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!

Hope every one is doing great!

750 Calorie BURN

So how is everyone doing? I've been feeling pretty good lately. I have been working out really hard, and eating really well these past few months, however, the baby weight is still not budging. I'm sure I just need to be patient, and keep working hard. I wish I was seeing some results, but I guess all I can do is just be healthy. The past few weeks I've really stepped up my workouts. I've even done a couple of elipticle workouts where I've burned 750 calories. Not bad, huh? It took me an hour each time, and I was sweating like a pig, but it felt SOOOOOOOOOOOOo good!!! I haven't eaten any treats for about a week now, and I'm trying to do it for a couple of more weeks. I'm hoping this will help jumpstart some weightloss soon. The race that I did last year is coming up, and I wish I would've signed up. I just didn't think I would be back in shape so soon, after having a baby. I was surprised that I could still run a 5k, when Madison was only about 2 months old. I should've signed up again, but now it's too late, so it costs a lot more, and I don't want to spend all that money to do it again. I would love to do a 10K next year though. I'm going to go running this morning, and see how far I can go. Wish me luck!

Really, is anybody else even out there? Let me know what you are up to!

She's here!

Sorry it's taken me a few weeks to post about my new baby! Madison Joy was born on May 22, and we couldn't be more thrilled with her! Things went well, and now I'm back in the routine of things so I have been able to start getting back into shape. I started to exercise, mildly, at two weeks after she was born, and now that she is almost 6 weeks old, I am able to go for it all the way! I got a bike from a friend, and I try to ride it often. I've also started to run again, and this morning I ran 1 1/2 miles. Not too bad, for not doing it in quite awhile! Anyway- I'm nursing, so I feel like I'm eating CONSTANTLY!!! I just have to work on eating the right kinds of foods, and I should be okay. I think I'm going to start writing down the things I eat, and maybe that will help me. Anyway, I'm still walking a few times a week, doing the elipticle, riding my bike, and running. I need to try to do some more toning exercises now that I have the okay from the doctor. Wish me luck!

Goals this week...

Exercise 6 days this week. (Sometimes twice a day, if I go on a bike ride.)

Write down what I eat.

0-1 treat per day.

WATER, WATER, WATER!!!!!!

Good luck to everyone else! Keep working hard through the summer!

How is everyone?

Hope all of you are doing great. How is the workouts and eating healthy going for everyone?

As for me, I am doing better. I have not lost any weight and have not tried really to do so in the last couple of months. But have regained my enthusiasm and have started again. I have bought a new scale and I am proud to say even though I have no truly watched what I have eaten and only have been walking. I have maintained my weight and have not gained any weight.

So here is to a new start.

33 weeks and going strong...sort of.

So, I am at 33 weeks now. No picture today, but I'll put one up as soon as I get one. I had an apointment last week (32 weeks), and was measuring about 31. A little lower than before. I have (or had) gained 16 pounds at my apointment, which I was okay with. I actually got sick the week before my apointment, so that's probably why I didn't gain more. I have 7 weeks at the most to go, so I think my goal of only gaining 25 pounds might really be possible at this point. I have been having a lot of pains and my doctor told me I need to take it easy for awhile and stay off my feet as much as possible. This has been so hard for me though! But everything I do, (walking, elipticle, weights, etc.) causes me to start contracting. I actually went about 2 weeks without doing ANY exercise, and it about killed me! I hated it! Anyway, I started to swim 3 days a week and I think this will be good. Without the gravity pulling down on me, I've felt great during and AFTER the workout which is nice. I've been keeping it really easy. A lot of laps with the kick board, and that sort of thing. Just enough to get my heart rate up, but not put my little baby in danger. Anyway, I'm sure I look like a big beached whale at the pool, but at 6:00am, who am I trying to impress, right? As for eating, I do it quite often. Oh well. One day I'll get back to normal with that again. I hope.

I'm BACK!!

Sorry to everyone that I've been gone so long! We moved to Utah and I didn't have regular access to the internet. Plus I totally lost my resolve to lose weight. However, I have 2 weddings coming up in a couple months and I have renewed my resolve to myself. Mostly for my own benefit, but also looking good for the weddings will be fun too.
So, I have started P90X. If you surf channels late at night, you might have seen the ads for this. It is INTENSE!!! It is all about intense workouts and tailored meal plans to your size. I am 4 days into it and already can see how it is different. It works off the idea of "muscle confusion" so that you never plateau. Feel free to look it up - I found it way cheap on Amazon, but it is offered through Beachbody.com.
Monday I did Back and Chest. It is ALL pull-ups and push-ups! WOW! Tough stuff! I did the full hour, modified a little bit.
Tuesday I did Plyometrics - an intense cardio workout where you spend most of the time jumping up and down - stuff like jumping squats. Way hard!
Wednesday was Arms and Shoulder. This is all curls and weight lifting.
Thursday (today) was Yoga. I learned today that I am NOT flexible! I had to stop 30 minutes into this 1 1/2 hour routine! I will do the rest later but I could not do it any more!
As far as eating, I have been pretty good. I have eliminated caffeinated, carbonated drinks, and have slowed down the sweets a TON! Anyways, I can't wait for the 90 days to be up so I can see my final results! In the meantime, we just keep plugging away!

7 Weeks

OK, I have 7 weeks to loose a few more pounds before I go in for my wonderful yearly exam. I have not been for about 4 years and figure I better go in. The last time I went I was about 30 pounds heavier and I know the DR will be happy with the lose, but I was hoping to be to my goal weight before I had to go in. So I am upping my game. I was up at 5am to do my Tae Bo (sp) workout and I did a Firm workout this afternoon when I got home from work. My plan is to continue to 2 a days and on the days I don't work, go walk/run in the mornings and continue with my firm work out because it has the weight lifting workouts.

I have also decided to give up treats and sweets until Easter and than I have to have my chocolate eggs.

Have a great week.

Me at 28 weeks along...

Sorry. Again, Carson took the pictures and most of them my head was cut off. The only halfway decent ones were these. The bottom is pretty crooked. Sorry.
As you can see, I'm getting bigger everyday! I just thought I'd update on how I'm doing and how the pregnancy is going. I had another appointement today, and I am now 28 weeks along. I'm measuring at exactly 28, and I have gained a total of 12 pounds. Like I've said before, I'm shooting at only gaining close to 25 pounds. With 12 weeks left, hopefully this is going to be possible.

I am exercising 6 days a week still (most of the time) but have modified it all quite a bit. I am carrying this baby low, and feel a lot of pressure when I'm on my feet, so I've had to really bef careful. I've cut out all weight lifting that involves my legs, and I pretty much just walk and do the elipticle for any cardio workouts. Here is my weekly routine...

Monday: Walk for about an hour.

Tuesday: Gym- walk for 30 minutes, lift weights (for arms) for 30 minutes.

Wednesday: Walk forabout an hour.

Thursday: Elipticle for 15-20 minutes. Resistance bands for 15 minutes. (this is an easy day.)

Friday: Gym- walk for 30 minutes, life weights for 30 minutes.

Saturday: Just elipticle for 20 minutes.

Sunday: DAY OFF!

I eat all the time, which is normal, but I need to focus better on WHAT I'm eating! I swear, all I crave is SUGAR! This week I'm working on drinking more water and eating more healthy snacks. Wish me luck!

Stuck

I am stuck!!! I can't get past the weight I am at right now. I have 18 pounds to my goal and I have been at thesame weight for the last two months and it is driving me crazy. I have changed up my workout and have gotten serious about my eating, but it is not working. It is frustrating!!
I have gone back to doing my weight watchers this week and I hope this will help also. We shall see though.

Any suggestions would be great.

Update

Well, my progress is embarrassing because there has been none. That's okay - that's what I'm using this blog for - to try to keep myself in line and to report to. I haven't exercised as well as I had wanted but I did exercise a few times (which is actually better than the past). I'm still working towards toning and losing inches rather than focusing on losing weight. However, I want to set a new goal to drink more water. I know that drinking water helps with so many facets of your health but I'd like to replace my habit of grabing a snack or treat with grabbing a glass of water. I think this will help things as well. Anyway, wish me luck. I'll report again next month.

Don't Know What To Do?!?

As I have mentioned before, my walking buddy and I are training to do the half-marathon in June. Well, Hubby and I have been asked by our Stake Presidency to be a Ma and Pa for the trek this June. The HM is on June 13th and the Trek is on June 18-20th. I don't know if I physically will be able to do both, but don't want to give up on the HM. I will have 5 days before the Trek, but on the Trek we are having to walk 7-8 miles a day. Do you think I am crazy if I do both?? Should I train for the HM even if I don't do it? Do you think it will help me for the Trek and that I should continue to train? UUGGHH!!!!

Here I am...

I already put these pictures on my other blog, but some of you probably don't look at that, so I figured I'd let you see how I'm growing lately.I am about 22 weeks along now, and feeling pretty good. I had my little boy, Carson, (he's 3) take these pictures of me so I could update you about my pregnancy. Hence, either the pictures are crooked or my head is cut off! Oh well, I guess he got the belly. (Like he could've missed!) That's what matters right?
So, the baby is healthy and growing! We aren't finding out the sex of the baby so, for now, and until he/she is here, we'll call it "baby".
Anyway, I've been doing pretty well still with exercising, so this week I'm really going to focus on eating more healthy snacks, and drinking TONZ of water! I'm constantly hungry because I'm pregnant, but I need to eat healthier snacks instead of what's just easy to grab. I'll work on that this week!
Exercise plan this week:
Monday: Elipticle 20-30 minutes (my walking partner was sick)
Tuesday: Gym 20 minutes cardio, 40 minutes weights
Wednesday: Walk 1 hour
Thursday: Elipticle 20-30 minutes
Friday: Gym 20 minutes cardio, 40 minutes weights
Saturday: Elipticle or Tae Bo
Wish me luck! How are the rest of you doing???

20 weeks along...

So, It's a new year, and I'm going to try and recover from this last month of SUGAR!!!! I am 20 weeks along now, and have gained a total of 3 pounds. I kind of popped over the Holidays, and am starting to look pregnant. (I think you realize that you are starting to show when you accidentally slam your belly in the car door. Yup. Done that more than once already.) Anyway, I'm measuring at 19, which is pretty close to where I'm at, so that is good. I am still exercising 6 days a week, but I need to layoff the sugar. I've been doing much better with eating healthy since we came home from Utah last week, but I need to be really strict with myself, since I am not as disciplined when I am pregnant! As for the exercising, I will start going back to the gym next week, 2 times a week, I'll walk twice a week for an hour, and do the elipticle for 20-30 minutes the other 2 days. I've had to slow it down a little, since I'm much more out of breath than I use to be, but I'm sure that's normal.

So...how are you girls doing???

I FINALLY POSTED!

Hi. My name is Erica Bazil. I met and became great friends with Cami while I lived in Pocatello for a few years. She encouraged me to contribute to this blog way back in April I think. Well, I'm finally posting! I made a new year's resolution to stick to a daily routine that I created to allow me to do more for myself and my family (for example: exercise, have "school" with my son, enjoy scripture study/recreational reading time, etc.).

This is the most recent picture I have of myself (Christmas).

I guess I will first introduce myself: I am 24 years old and have been married to a wonderful man, Ty, for 4 1/2 years. We met in Pocatello while we were both attending ISU. Just before we got married, I graduated with an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies and we had just found out that Ty was accepted into ISU’s pharmacy program. So while he was going through the program I worked as a paralegal at a law firm for a couple years before we were blessed with the arrival of our adorable little boy, Cash. He is now 2 1/2 years old and never fails to entertain. We had planned on my staying at home with our children so when we had Cash I quit my job and I've never looked back.

A picture of my adorable family (Thanksgiving)!

This spring we had a lot of exciting change when in April we had another bundle of joy join our family. Her name is Vanna Marie. She is the most beautiful 8 month old, rolly-polly you've ever seen (of course, my opinion is a little biased). Also, Ty graduated in May so we bought a house and and a week after his graduation we moved to Payette, ID for a job that he took as a Pharmacist at BI-MART in Weiser, ID. All in all, we are very happy and feel like we have been blessed beyond measure. (To hear more about me and listen to my rambleings, visit my blog at bazilbunch.blogspot.com or see link to your right.)

Now to the nitty gritty...I've decided this blog will serve as a good reminder for me to work harder at exercising. I think the report to the blog and accountability aspect will be key to my success. I've never been concerned about my weight but I want to tone and lose 3 inches around my waist and 2 inches around each thigh. Although losing the weight comes quickly for me after having babies, it's amazing the way they have still changed my body - who would have thought :)? I'm also noticing that although my weight doesn't change, the way my body looks is - I think largly because I'm losing muscle and compensating by gaining fat (and since muscle weighs more than fat - my weight stays the same - ugh!).

One of my favorite phrases is "moderation in all things". Therefore, I don't intend on punishing myself for exercising only 29 minutes rather than 30 or for eating a cookie or anything - I want to still enjoy life but I want to enjoy it healthier and with more energy (and looking better will just be a sweet perk!). Wish me luck - I'll be in touch.

Good luck to all of you on your new goals and efforts too!

New Year/New Goals

So what are you goals for this new year?? What is going to keep you motivated??

My goals for this year is to continue losing the weight I need to and to get into excellent shape. A friend and I are going to run a half marathon this summer and I am REALLY EXCITED. I have never ran any races of any kind, nor did I do track in school, so this is all new for me.

Good luck on your goals this year and can't wait to hear what they are so I can cheer you on!!
