Christmas sweets....uh-oh

Nothing says Christmas like Orange sticks.......and Almond Roca.......and chocolate covered cherries.....and.....well, I guess you get the point. I'm a little nervous with all these treats around. I don't want to throw them out, but I have a really hard time disciplining myself when it's around. Help!!!

I did pretty well again this week, except Thursday I didn't workout because I came down with the flu on Wednesday afternoon. I pretty much stayed in bed for a whole day, but tried to make it up by running on Friday, which I haven't done in a long time. (Because I HATE running outside in the winter!) Other than that, I'm just more nervous for the upcoming week and all the sugar around.

So I guess the main thing I'm going to work on this week is not over-doing it with the sweets.

I'll exercise, drink water, snack on healthy food, and REALLY AVOID TOO MUCH CANDY!!!

I think I might pick a few pieces everyday and put it in a seperate bowl. When they are gone, no more for the day..... We'll see how it goes! Wish me luck. I'm really gonna need it!

Thanks Cami

At the beginning of this week I thought to myself "gee Michelle, it's the week of Christmas, why not take a break?" Then I read your post Cami and the part about doing this blog this time of year helped me realize something. How often during the year do we say that to ourselves "let's take a break because of this...."? I do it all the time. Take a break because it's my birthday. Take a break because it's a holiday. Take a break because I had a bad week. No wonder I am the way I am, I took too many breaks. :P So, while my body wants to go on vacation, I'm going to try hard not too.

So far I'm doing pretty well by not overeating and drinking water. I haven't been going to bed early because my nights are packed since I've been working more than usual. Honestly, I probably won't get any workouts in because seriously, I have a ton to do. But running around counts as something right? That and being on my feet all day at work. (I'm totally counting that too lol!) Have a merry Christmas everyone!!

YIKES!!!!!

Okay....um....shall we just all start over fresh tomorrow? I think so. There was just WAY too much stuff covered in chocolate around my house this past week for me to stay away from! It was bad. I'm off treats until Christmas Eve though! Anyone with me on this????!

I worked out Monday-Saturday though and feel good about that, and I actually did AMAZING on not eating after 7:00pm! I only ate later than that on Saturday night because we ate dinner at an ugly Christmas Sweater party that night. Other than that, I did good!

I'm going to try to keep that goal again this week, and workout Monday-Friday. No treats until Christmas Eve, and drink LOTS OF WATER!


Isn't it funny how we started this thing up during the hardest part of the year (food and time wise???) Good for us!!! Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Terrible Week

This week for working out has been terrible. I tried, but I had a little one with the stomach flu, or I thought. To find out later he is allergic to soy milk, he was using it instead of regular milk which he is allergic to also.

I have found that I need to be held accountable for my workouts and my eating and you guys are it! Thanks!

My goal this coming week is to workout Monday through Wednesday doing P90X in the morning and I am cleaning apartments these three days also. So I should get a good extra from that. My goal for eating is to eat more fruits and veggies and layoff the treats until Christmas day. Wednesday we are headed to Temple Square and staying the night in UT. So I won't get my workout on Thursday morning, but will workout Friday Morning. I think that will work for the week.

My week

I have been sick this week so some goals went out the window. I haven't worked out because I was too sick to. I have been drinking a lot of Gatorade though. It was the one thing I could keep down. I have gone to bed early a few times, that's been good. And I've been keeping an eye on the HFCS and not eating it. So, despite being sick it hasn't been too bad of a week. I didn't make any new goals this week but I will next week! I'm going to start weighing myself on Saturdays to see if I gain or lose weight. I'm worried to see where I will be at this weekend. It probably won't be pretty. :P

Week Recap

So it looks like I could've done a little better with the treats this week. I was hoping to do only 3 desserts total, but couldn't seem to stop picking at leftover carmel cake ALL day on Wednesday! Ugh. So...I had a few more treats then planned, but still did pretty good........besides Wednesday. I exercised Monday-Saturday and worked out for at least 40 minutes each day.

I am going to shoot for 3 treats again all week, and exercise Monday-Saturday and also add one more goal for this week. NOTHING to eat after 7pm for 5 of the 7 days this week. That's a hard one for me, since I tend to snack and eat junk after the kids go to bed at night. I'm going to work extra hard on that one this week. I'll let you know how I did next Sunday!!!

Oh...by the way, I've lost about 3 pounds in the last 2 weeks, and a certain pair of pants that use to be too tight now fit!!! So...something is obviously happening. I guess I just need to keep up my motivation. Thanks for helping girls!

Excited!

So glad this is back up and running. I so needed the extra help. I am starting back on seriously tomorrow. I need to get my eating back under control, it has been terrible.

I joined the gym, but really only for the treadmill. I am miserable walking outside in the cold.

My goals are:

Monday/Wednesday/Friday to do P90X at 5am and when the kids get on the bus to go to the gym and walk/run on the treadmill for an hour.

Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday to do P90X at 5am (my kids are up at 6-6:30a and it does not matter the day)

I am going to follow the old Weight Watcher Point System for my eating and lay off sweets. We are having family pictures at the end of February and I have my 25 year Class Reunion at the end of June. So I need to get my behind in gear. I truly am excited for all of you and hope you reach your goals too!

New week

Sorry I didn't get this up yesterday, I think I might have a tummy bug and haven't felt up to it. So I'm going to make this quick. I'm keeping my goals from last week (drinking more water, going to bed early, work out at least 3x) and adding one this week - get rid of all HFCS. For the most part, I've been doing really well with this and not buying things that have it in it. We've already switched a few things like our brand of syrup has changed and so has our ketchup. And guess what I noticed the other day? My 100% whole wheat bread has HFCS in it!! I couldn't believe it! Who does that?? So I'm definitely going to be scouring our food to make sure we don't have any more that are "hidden" with HFCS. :P

Here we go again....

I feel like I did pretty well again this week. I could still drink more water, but I HATE having to go to the bathroom all the time! Ugh. I stuck with the 3 treats and I'll keep that goal again. I'd like to cut it down even more, but it's too difficult with so much going on during the holidays. I'll stick to 3 for now, and if I exercise again everyday I'm okay with allowing myself 3 treats. There's always a happy medium, right??? So..here's my plan:

No treats Monday
Tuesday- I'll have stuff since it IS my birthday!!!!
Wednesday nothing
Thursday- yes...(I have a RS enrichment progressive dinner...no way I'm passing up on THAT dessert!)
Then I'll pick one day in the weekend to have something. Wish me luck! (Is it weird that I plan out my treats for the week ahead of time??!)

Exercising has become a little more of a challenge since our Elliptical broke, but we (James and I)have found ways to be creative. I think I ran about 2 miles one morning, right in my bedroom, watching 24. Not my favorite thing to do...(Running in place or in a bedroom), but sometimes when the work-out tapes get too repetitive, it's nice to change up the routine. I think I'm going to be getting a 4-month Gym pass to the College Gym here in town, with my neighbor starting in January. That way we can get into shape together, and by summer we'll be able to run outside again! (I absolutely HATE running outside in the winter time!!!)

So....3 sweets and exercise Monday-Saturday are my main goals again. Okay, okay, I'll watch the white flour again too!!!

Much better week

This past week was by far better than my previous week, woohoo! I did really good with going to bed earlier, almost every night. My water intake was a lot better, even though I don't like the increase in bathroom trips lol. What I did find interesting though, was that if I drank a lot of water one day, but hadn't gotten to it the next day, my body actually craved more water. Interesting huh? The one thing I didn't do as well on was exercising, I did that one day instead of my three. But I'm proud of myself for doing at least that (baby steps right?). :) I'll post my new goals on Monday!

mid-week reminder

SO, I'm tired of having to "suck it in" all the time. Wouldn't it be nice just to be able to sit on the floor and not worry about the rolls hanging over the jeans? Or put on a cute shirt and not have to wear something bulky over the top to cover up the flaws? I am ready to STAY motivated!!!! Sometimes in the middle of the week it gets harder and I need an extra reminder of what I'm working for. Do I want to be healthy and thinner more than I want that shake? YES! I just need to remember that when I'm staring it in the eye. These updates are helping me too, Michelle. It's nice to have to be accountable to someone for what I've done in the week! Good luck this weekend! We can DO IT!
