Cami!

How did your lab assessment go? I bet they told you were totally awesome. :D

Well, unfortunately, I found out I'm fatter than I thought. Just kidding. I really was very disappointed though from my lab. First off, he didn't tell me to drink tons, so I was only 45% hydrated for it, and I guess I was suppose to be at least 60% hydrated. It isn't totally accurate unless you are fully hydrated. Also, he only scheduled me to test my % of body fat, and so I had to reschedule the muscle test, and cardio and flexibility tests....so all I really found out was my body fat %, and that wasn't totally accurate anyway. My body fat is too high though. I'm going to have him re-check it on Thursday though, when I'm more hydrated and see if what the most accurate score is. Right now it says that I have about 35% body fat, and so my first goal is to at least get it under 30. A healthy goal would be between 20-30% for my height. Preferably between 20-25, but for now I'm going to shoot for anything below 30. I'm going to have them check it monthly so I can see if I'm making any progress. As for the other tests, I'll fill you in next week when I actually do them! Thanks for caring!

What?? 35% doesn't sound right to me at all. Which way did he check your body fat? Did you hold onto a device? Or did he take circumference measurements or use calipers? Calipers are the most accurate way to check body fat from what I learned in class (although we were taught to use all the different methods). I have a website where you can put in your body measurements and it will tell you your body fat % using calipers, so if he does it with those you can double check them. Sorry it didn't go better for you.

That is rough. I had mine % of body fat checked and it said 30%. I was holding the devise out in front of me. I don't like those things. I want to have it rechecked in a few months and see if it has gone down. I hope you get a better read next time.
